Touring now...

In a city, near a forest

Join me on my journey as I tour my one woman family show 'In a City, Near a Forest'.

It's an hour long and as popular with adults as children. I developed it from an older piece called 'Near a village, near a forest'. This version though, is narrated by a forester, Dr Kemi Oloruntobi, who adds to the fun.

Please contact me if you are interested in a production for your school, festival or theatre. Minimal set and lots of interaction.

Here's a review from Louise Katerga who saw the opening show on the July the 4th, 2026 at the Croydonite Festival.

"Fresh, enjoyable, gently educational and just an utter delight from start to finish! Young audience members will be instantly captivated by Funmi's charisma and weaving of worlds where words share equal billing with rhythm, and dance. Adults - of any cultural background - will roar with recognition at the characters from the older generation she re-creates and all of us of any age couldn't wait to join in our many invitations to interact. Each rich, traditional story flows beautifully from the last, but the power of the modern framing device - the image of a female academic of African heritage sharing the joyous cultural roots of her learning and success? Not lost on my own inner child starved of such imaginings of my adult self back in the day.... Subtly, powerful and potent stuff all round!"
