FAE STUDIOS is the platform for my research-informed practice, which encompasses performance, pedagogy, professional development and arts consultancy. At the heart of my work lies an ongoing investigation into the what, why and how of communication especially through performance. Communication shapes personal growth, fosters interaction, builds community, and opens pathways. 

 

I am particularly inspired by the stories of post-independence Africa, familiar yet under-explored in contemporary performance. I am committed to nurturing professional artistry across African and Diasporic contexts and working with people of all backgrounds in investigating performance as a transnational practice. 'Professional' for me does not imply superiority over social or popular culture but rather refers to the distinct functions and features of the performance context.

FAE STUDIOS as a business name reflects my approach to the studio as a space for creatives. I see it as a conceptual as well as a physical space; supporting the broad range of processes involved in art-making; learning, experimentation, documentation, devising, transmission, production, and presentation.
